“Update October 01, 2020 ” Vietnam has resumed e-visa for Japan and Korea citizens?

Vietnam government’s notice (update 2020-10-01): continue to stop all visas, including electronic visa, consulate visa, and landing visa.

Recently, there are some news reports that from July 1, 2020, Vietnam will allow citizens of 80 countries/regions to apply for e-visa, including Japan and Korea.

Please note that this is only a new law passed in November last year, and it has been in effect since July. It is means 80 pilot countries that used to be able to apply for e-visa have changed to be formal since July, and it has not been said that they will resume visa processing from July.

Update September 1: Vietnam plans to resume international flights with Guangzhou (China), Seoul (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Vientiane (Laos) from September 15. More details are yet to be released, however, all inbound passengers will be subject to compulsory quarantine for 14 days, except for short trips less than 14 days.

With regard to the resumption of visa processing for Vietnam, the Vietnamese government will consider resuming visa processing for some security countries first. However, we have to wait for information, so please do not worry.
