What Is the Vietnam E-Visa?

The e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization processed from the Vietnam Government, which is valid up to 30 consecutive days and issued in PDF format to travelers. It is equivalent to a visa at the embassy, but there is no stamp done in the passport. The process of online application is speedy and easy, and you need an internet connection and a mobile or computer.

The process of applying for the Vietnam tourist e-Visa is straightforward, in which applicants need to answer a series of basic questions, which include your personal and passport information, and they also do cross-checking of health and security-related matters. Entry Requirements for Vietnam e-visa

  • The e-Visa allows a single entry and known as a single entry visa.
  • The validity period of e-Visa is for 30 days, from the date of entry. They mention it in the e-visa while you apply for it.
  • On the completion period of 30 days, the person needs a renewed visa if he wants to extend his/her stay in Vietnam.
  • The passport of the applicant must be valid for at least six month after arriving in Vietnam, and it should have at least two blank pages for stamping from border control officer and immigration
  • Children aged 14 years and above should have their passport and must complete a full e-Visa application. Whereas children aged 14 and under who use parent’s passports shall include it in their parent’s e-Visa form.
  • Travelers are needed to carry a copy of their e-Visa all the time during their stay.

Requirements for making e-visa application

  • If you are putting in an application for an e-visa, you must have a valid passport.
  • One must follow all the points prescribed in article 21 of Law, which considers foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through, residence in Vietnam. For the Immigration Laws details, please click here.
  • A person should have a scanned color copy of the personal information page of the current passport of the applicant.
  • One small passport size photo is required.
  • A current email address should be provided where you will receive a copy of the Vietnamese tourist e-Visa.

Process of Application for E-Visa

You can apply for an E-Visa following three simple steps, such as:

  • After submission of correct information pay the fee of (25 USD) for e-visa by credit cards/debit cards
  • Then your e-visa code will be available on E-Visa Result Page after three working days, and you can download it.

Vietnam Tourist E-Visa Processing Time
